RNDSQR Encourages Modern, Community-Based Lifestyle
Calgary’s inner-city has always inspired creative design, and RNDSQR (pronounced, round square) has been one of the proponents of avant garde architecture that encourages a modern, community-based lifestyle.
RNDSQR is entering its most productive stage in its young history, as they release more than 40 homes (20 condos and 20 townhomes) in two separate multi-family developments in the inner city. RNDSQR, which has made its reputation in building some of the most iconic infill custom homes is introducing two new multi-family projects: Peaks + Plains and Grow.
Peaks + Plains is in Altadore along 48 Avenue, S.W. It is inspired by the mountains and prairies that meet in Calgary. “It pays homage to the beauty of our hometown, drawing inspiration from the big sky and sheltering Rockies,” says RNDSQR founder, Alkarim Devani. “It combines a modern Scandinavian aesthetic with honest, natural materials in an unbeatable location.”
Peaks + Plains has 20 units with two unique designs, one based on the Slopes and another inspired by the Prairies. They are all three-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,821 to 2,187 square-feet. “These were designed for families who want to live affordably in the inner-city.” Prices start from $699,000.
Grow is something totally differnt that hasn’t been seen in Calgary. The building located on 16A Street in Bankview has been meticulously designed by MoDA with interiors by RNDSQR. Recognized with a Special Mention from the Architizer A+ Awards, Grow is for people who value the style and life-enhancing benefits of modern design.
Grow is reasonably priced to encourage a diverse community, including families,” Devani says.
Grow has 20 one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 515 to 1,315 square-feet. Prices are from $289,000.
